This engaging panel discussion features Dr. Manisha Parulekar (Hackensack Meridian Health), Annemarie Schreiber, Esq., and NJCGP Past President, Jackie Bartley-Oxley, JD, President, Planned Giving, Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation.
Our panel will explore signs of cognitive change in donors, best practices for those experiencing memory changes; including ethical decision-making and determining when to involve family members or professional advisors. Our professionals will also address real-life donor scenarios and adapting solicitation strategies for the aging donor.
Featured Speakers:
Manisha Parulekar, M.D., F.A.C.P., A.G.S.F., CMD is board-certified in geriatrics and internal medicine. Dr. Parulekar completed her geriatrics fellowship training at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center and the UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and completed a residency in internal medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, Cornell University in New York City.
Dr. Parulekar is the Director for Division of Geriatrics at Hackensack University Medical Center, Co-Director for the Center for Memory Loss and Brain Health at Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center, Medical Director for Geriatrics for HMH, and associate professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
Her research interests include dementia care, prevention and early diagnosis of dementia, delirium, caregiver support and social determinants of health and its impact on access to health care. Dr. Parulekar is leading the age-friendly health initiative at Hackensack Meridian Health to improve care for older adults.
Annemarie Schreiber is a partner with the firm Hiering, Dupignac, Dunn & Schreiber located in Toms River, New Jersey. She is a Certified Elder Law attorney. Annemarie’s practice focuses on the areas of elder law and estate planning including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Medical Directives, trusts, guardianships, estate probate, estate administration and estate litigation.
Annemarie regularly participates in educational presentations to senior communities throughout Ocean County regarding those issues that affect and impact the senior population. Often such topics include elder and estate planning, elder abuse and even scamming.
Annemarie earned her B.S. degree from the University of Delaware and her J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law. Annemarie is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (inactive). She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She sits on various boards including Somebody Cares Foundation and Caregiver Volunteers of Central New Jersey. She is the past president of the Toms River Kiwanis Club and the Brick Chamber of Commerce.
Jacqueline M. Bartley-Oxley, J.D. serves as vice president of gift planning at Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation. The Office of Gift Planning leads a networkwide approach to growing planned and blended gifts across the HMH landscape. Legacy gifts have had a significant impact in the Be the Difference Campaign. The office has raised the largest amount of principal-level planned gifts in HMH’s history, including six gifts of $10M and above, one $20M, and two $30M over the past three years.
Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, Jackie spent most of her career in higher education. She served five years as vice president of institutional advancement with a seat on the President’s Cabinet, where she established the college’s first comprehensive capital campaign, raising millions for student scholarships.
She also served more than six years as associate vice president for development at Monmouth University, leading fundraising for the successful MAC campaign completed ahead of deadline, and held a seven-year tenure at Rutgers University Foundation as chief fundraiser for the College of Nursing, director of gift planning, and associate vice president for development overseeing 10 schools and centers.
Prior to entering development, Jackie practiced law with the Monmouth County firm of Lomurro Davison Eastman and Munoz. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from Boston College.
Jackie resides in Middletown, NJ with her husband, Joe Oxley, a Superior Court Judge in the Monmouth County Vicinage, their 13-year-old daughter, Margaux, an international Irish dancer, and Sunny, the family’s cavapoo.
